Apple M6531 Harman Kardon G4 PowerMac and iMac Pro Speakers

These Apple Pro Speakers feature powerful Harman Kardon audio technology. They connect to your Power Mac G4 desktop systems using a single cable which provides 20 watts of sound (10 watts/channel) to the speakers with a frequency range of 70 hertz to 20 kilohertz.

Apple Pro Speakers are different from the speakers that came with the Power Mac G4 Cube: While the Apple Pro Speakers look very similar to the Power Mac G4 Cube speakers, the Apple Pro Speakers get their power from the computer and require a system with an Apple speaker minijack like the one on the G4 Power Mac tower and G4 iMac. The Power Mac G4 Cube speakers, on the other hand, are USB-powered and are designed to work only with Power Mac G4 Cube systems. Also, the G4 Cube speakers have an external amplifier, whereas the Power Mac G4 has an internal amplifier that supports the Apple Pro Speakers.

The analog-based speakers require systems with an Apple speaker minijack. They are not USB-based speaker. Be advised that the cording is beige not white. They are priced at $50 with shipping at cost. To inquire contact Dave via kootenaymac.tel

Harmon Kardon SoundSticks III speakers

These SoundSticks are brand new in the original sealed retail box, complete with manufacturer's warranty. Available for local pickup in Nelson BC for $195 CDN or with shipping at cost in Canada depending on location. To inquire contact Dave via kootenaymac.tel

From the manufacturer: Few multimedia sound systems can boast that their predecessor was part of the permanent collection at New York City’s Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), but that’s exactly the claim the SoundSticks III speaker system can make. Taking its older sibling’s celebrated design even further, the SoundSticks III look is cutting-edge with a modern industrial design aesthetic, elegant black accents and a luminescent white LED glow. And though the SoundSticks III system may look like a visitor from the future with its transparent speaker covers, its exceptional performance makes it a more-than-worthy encore to its pop-culture predecessor.

Review | Cult of Mac: It’s rare that you can point to an accessory and say “Jony Ive” designed that, but with the Harman Kardon Soundsticks, that’s literally true.

Extremely rare pin - Keep Your Lawyers Off My Computer

This is the infamous Fanged Apple, a design created in protest of Apple's lawsuit regarding graphical user interfaces (GUI) software. This 2.25" diameter button is in very good condition with all details crisp and clear. It was one of three released several years ago by a collector in California. It was his last one and they have become extremely rare. It is priced at $90CDN and that includes postage. To inquire contact Dave via kootenaymac.tel

Provenance: the former owner of this pin, a speaker at several Boston MacWorlds in the early 90's, says "I personally obtained this button from Richard Stallman outside of Lotus's offices in Cambridge, MA!"

"In 1989, Apple's look and feel lawsuit against Microsoft brought the idea of interface copyright to the attention of the programming community. Apple was trying to claim a monopoly over a broad class of graphical user interfaces. If Apple succeeded, not only Microsoft, but every software developer, would be legally compelled to design gratuitously incompatible software." In response, John Gilmore and Richard Stallman together commissioned the design of the "fanged Apple"–a button showing the Apple logo with vicious teeth. This was followed by an advertisement placed in The Tech, MIT's student newspaper, which in turn led to a protest rally at the HQ of Lotus Development Corporation--another "look and feel" lawsuit plaintiff."
