The agreement announced on 21-Feb-07 states that both parties recognize trademark rights that have been granted, and both can use the iPhone trademark on their products worldwide. Both Apple and Cisco will dismiss all legal actions against each other, and will work on interoperability, without any specific agreements.

Old Hard Drive…No Enclosure… No Problem
Macsupport - Macintosh News, Reviews and Mac Help
Newer Technology recently accounced their Universal Drive Adapter which allows old hard drives to be accessed without an enclosure. The adapter is simply a cable with a USB connection at one end, and IDE/ATA/ATAPI 40 pin or Serial-ATA terminals at the other end. Those terminals allow the adapter to interface with a wide range of 2.5″, 3.5″, or 5.25″ hard drives or optical drives including those found in laptop and desktop computers.

AppleInsider - Apple Inc. on Thursday issued a security update that stomps out four critical flaws within its Mac OS X operating system, all of which were first revealed last month as part of the 'Month of Apple Bugs' project run by independent security analysts.

Mac Malware: Slow but Steady Evolution - Mac News
The number of OS X security vulnerabilities is on the rise, which may have something to do with Apple's growing personal computer market share. Still, the operating system remains an infrequent victim for malware hackers compared to Windows systems. Though incidents are increasing, most malware targeting OS X remains one-off, proof-of-concept code.

Google spreads the love on Valentines Day
Posted by Garett Rogers, ZDNet.com
"As for Gmail, users can now sign up for the service without being invited -- even though this was falsely reported about a week ago, this time it's the real deal. When the news first 'broke', Canada was one of the countries still unable to sign up -- but now I can confirm that registering for a Gmail account is as easy as hitting 'Sign Up' on the main page (no invite or cellphone required)"

Apple seeds new Mac OS X 10.4.9 build
Think Secret
Mac OS X 10.4.9, as a minor update to Tiger, is primarily designed to iron out existing kinks in the OS rather than delivering any more substantial improvements or feature changes. The update could be the last software revision to the OS until Leopard if the company's previous version-naming conventions hold.

Daylight Saving Time May Bite the Out-of-Date
TidBITS 864 (2007-01-29)
This change means that any device which automatically changes its clock to match Daylight Saving Time, such as a VCR, either needs to be updated with new rules, or must have its clock changed manually on the affected dates. Apple included the new rules for Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger in the 10.4.6 update.
