Caching YouTube etc... possible?

Caching YouTube etc... possible? - MozillaZine Forums
"Would it be possible to cache movies from YouTube and its clone sites in camino like it is possible for all the quicktime stuff? So if you click a link accidentally, and then click the back button, the movie would still be loaded? Or is there some flash magic involved that prevents this?"

scroll/read/scroll/read....
To play locally you will need the plugin Perian from http://perian.org/. Perian is a free, open source plugin for QuickTime that will let you play .flv and other non natively supported formats.

scroll/read/scroll/read....
This is one of the things that you can do in Safari pretty easily. Once you load the youtube page in Safari, you open the activity window (Window > Activity), drill down through the arrows and once you found the link that ends with .flv, which is the direct link to the file, you double click it. It'll open a new window but the file goes directly to the Downloads window.

Install Perian to let QuickTime playback the movie.

You could use Democracy Player, which allows you to search and download videos from various sources, including YouTube.

It'll install the plugin's required for viewing as well.
