Canada to tax legal digital music downloads
Electronista - Friday, October 19th
This decision follows a related move in July, in which the Copyright Board had tentatively approved a media player and memory levy that would add to the price of iPods and removable flash storage under the assumption that the devices were being used to carry copyrighted material.

Rotate individual PDF pages in Preview
Macworld: Mac OS X Hints - Nov. 2007
So here’s how to make Preview rotate just the currently displayed page in your PDF: hold down the option key before selecting Rotate Left or Rotate Right (either the toolbar buttons or the menu commands). With the option key held down, only the current page will rotate. (And if you save the document, it will be saved with the single page rotated.)

Mac OS X Installation Methods
Barkings! | The Small Dog Apple Blog
Method #1: This method is for people who do not have a DVD drive. It requires that you have a second Macintosh computer with a DVD drive.
Almost all, if not all Macintosh computers built since the colorful iMacs come with a feature called Target Disk Mode. This ‘mode’ turns your Macintosh computer into a giant hard drive and when connected to another Macintosh via a Firewire cable will act just like a giant hard drive!

A New Mac Tip Every Day
iTunes: Opening a playlist in a new window!
"The obvious way of opening a playlist in a new window would be to double-click on the name of the playlist, but it doesn't work. When you double-click on it, it lets you rename the playlist. The way to do it is to double-click on the icon that is at the left of the name of the playlist."
